My love for dogs began at a very young age. Growing up in the foothills of San Jose, California, it wasn’t uncommon for abandoned dogs to be dumped in the area. Neighbors quickly learned that if they found a lost or wandering dog, they could usually find me nearby trying to help it. Before long, I had affectionately earned the nickname “the neighborhood dog whisperer.” By the age of 10, I was already well known at the local veterinary office for constantly bringing in strays and injured animals that needed help.
That love for animals never faded. To this day, my husband and I have a deep love for all animals, but especially Chihuahuas and sighthounds. Animals have always been a huge part of my life and heart.
After the loss of the love of my life, my dog Bubba, I was introduced to BFG. Through rescue, I was connected with my Saluki, Frank, and from the very beginning we shared a deep, soulful bond. Frank opened my eyes to the incredible resilience, sensitivity, and beauty of rescue dogs from Kuwait and the surrounding region.
Today, I am proud to volunteer with BFG and serve as a resource for animals and pet owners throughout the Baltimore area. Rescue work is something deeply personal to me, and I feel incredibly grateful to play even a small role in helping animals find safety, healing, and the loving homes they deserve.
