WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
For over 10 years, BFG (Become Foster Guardian) Kuwait has been built around one simple belief: every animal deserves the chance to feel safe, loved, and at home.
What started as a small group of people trying to help animals in need has grown into a volunteer-run rescue community spanning from Kuwait to the U.S., including a dedicated network of fosters and supporters in and around Baltimore.
Our work begins in Kuwait, where the stray and abandoned animal population is overwhelming and rescue resources are limited. Every day, our team on the ground steps into difficult situations to rescue dogs and cats who have been neglected, abandoned, injured, or simply forgotten. Many arrive scared, sick, malnourished, or in need of urgent medical care.
That’s where the healing starts.
Our Kuwait team does the hard work of rescuing, rehabilitating, bottle feeding, transporting to veterinary appointments, and helping these animals learn safety and trust again. It takes patience, teamwork, and an incredible amount of heart. Once they are healthy and ready to travel, the next chapter begins.
Through a network of flight volunteers, fosters, and adopters, these animals make their way to the United States, where foster homes open their doors and continue the journey. Many of our fosters are located throughout the Baltimore area, creating a strong local community connected by the same goal: giving these animals the life they deserve.
Fostering is a huge part of what makes our rescue possible. It gives dogs and cats the chance to decompress, experience life in a home, and begin to show their personalities. Some arrive timid and unsure. Others have never had consistency or kindness before. Watching them slowly settle in, learn routines, play, trust, and eventually find their forever families is what keeps all of us going.
Everything we do is volunteer-based and self-run. No one here is doing this for recognition or profit. We do it because we believe where an animal is born should never determine whether they get to experience love, comfort, and safety.
At BFG Kuwait, rescue is about more than saving animals. It’s about building a community around compassion, second chances, and people willing to show up for those who cannot speak for themselves.
And none of it happens alone. It takes rescuers, fosters, adopters, transport volunteers, donors, and supporters all working together, one animal at a time.
