Mary Tavares Sutula is dentist and Dental Public Health specialist.  She is a Professor at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine and director of the school's Dental Public Health Residency.  She spent 3 decades working on a project with the country of Kuwait to improve their delivery of oral health care services for children.  Along the way, she became involved with a Baltimore based group that brought rescued dogs and cats from Kuwait.  At first, she helped to transport them in conjunction with her regular work-related trips.  Now, she helps with preparing the required  CDC and USDA documentation needed for bringing dogs to the United States.  Twelve years and hundreds of dog and cats later, she is thankful for the team that keeps this rescue operation going.
